The ethics of digital adoption in social care are to be discussed at the Tech for Care Digital Care Conference next month.

With the theme of ‘Exploring Development and Ethics of Technology in Social Care’ the conference will be held at Millennium Point in Curzon Street, Birmingham on December 12.

The conference will consider how to ensure the continuous introduction of digital technology into social while preserving the core values of caring.

Attendees will also debate whether the current structure and standards are sufficient to enable the ethical integration of digital into social care and whether care can be both digital and person centred.

Dr Chris Papadouplos, Principal Lecturer at the University of Bedfordshire, will present on how robotics and AI can help provide dignified, person centred care.

Other speakers will include Dame Moira Gibb, Chair of Skills for Care, and Mark Sutton, Chief Digital Officer, CQC, who will speak on transforming regulation for the digital world.

Panel discussions in the morning and afternoon will look at data ownership and adopting co-production value to social care tech development.
